Rapid prototype of a mobile manipulator


A 6 DOF industrial manipulator is mounted on a mobile base, which consists of four active wheel bricks, a master battery brick, and a CPU brick. The configuration has an outer frame that is composed from T-Slot 8 aluminum system profiles. This outer frame, the footprint of the mobile manipulator, can be arbitrarily scaled according to the needs of a customer, for example to accommodate the controller box of the manipulator between the two rows of bricks. In the design shown here the industrial manipulator is mounted on top of the CPU brick in order not to constraint the reachable workspace. The payload of the overall system is limited only by the payload of the manipulator. The base itself has a payload of 500 kg.
